Do you feel like you’re holding everything together, while quietly running on empty? Maybe you’ve tried talking about it, but something still feels stuck.
I’m Bianca, a counsellor and kinesiologist in Coffs Harbour. I work with people carrying exhaustion, overwhelm, or stress that hasn’t shifted with talk therapy alone.
My approach blends counselling with gentle body-based kinesiology techniques — working with both your story and your physiology, because real healing happens when both are included.

There's a particular kind of tired that comes from holding it all together on the outside while everything underneath feels like it's barely keeping up. With this can come anxiety, overwhelm, rage, and maybe even a sense of having lost yourself somewhere along the way. I work with women across Cronulla and the Sutherland Shire, in person and online, supporting them to create space for what's been asking to be felt, and find their way back to feeling lighter, more resourced, and more in control. Life can be hard sometimes and, even if you think you're more neuro-typical, we are all masking to some degree. Finding a place where we can gradually unmask and be real with what is happening for us might be a little challenging to start but ultimately it's a huge relief! Having a place where you don't have to say anything, but you can say anything, seems to be the most important factor in getting along in the world and feeling less alone. I enjoy being one of those people for people... it's my jam! ...because it's real, I know we all suffer at times, and I feel privileged to sit in that space with a person.

What are the advantages of seeing an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander therapist?
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander therapists can offer important cultural understanding and lived experience that can help create a more supportive and effective therapeutic space for Indigenous clients. This cultural connection often leads to stronger trust and rapport, which can be particularly important when discussing sensitive topics such as intergenerational trauma and cultural identity. In addition, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander therapists may be well-positioned to understand community dynamics and the cultural aspects an individual’s wellbeing, which can be additional components to a strong therapeutic relationship.
What do Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander therapists specialise in?
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander therapists specialise in a wide range of areas, often combining clinical expertise with cultural knowledge and community connection. Many work with individuals experiencing intergenerational trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, identity challenges, and substance use issues. Some therapists focus on specific populations such as young people or families. What often distinguishes their work is the integration of evidence-based psychological therapies—like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) or acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)—with cultural practices rooted in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditional ways of healing.
How do I find an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander therapist in Australia?
The Psychology Today online directory is a helpful tool to search for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander therapist in Australia. The site allows you to filter therapists based on cultural background, therapeutic approach, area of focus, and location, making it easier to find someone who aligns with your values and mental health needs. When choosing a therapist, you might ask whether they offer in-person or telehealth sessions, what therapeutic methods they use, whether cultural practices are part of their approach, and whether their services are covered by Medicare through a mental health care plan.
