My counselling style centres on Active Engagement & the Quality of Our Client-Therapist Relationship, by far the most important factor for Successful Outcomes through this Collaborative framework.
Have you been unable to move beyond entrenched unhealthy relational patterns or addictive behaviours deeply impacting your emotional, psychological & physical well-being? The repetitive nature of these unhealthy thoughts, behaviours & feelings are what leads most clients through my door. My task as your counsellor is to provide an environment that disrupts your current level of functioning or repetitive patterns & move you towards change & renewed progression. I observe your Discrepancies or Mixed Messages & Inner Conflicts within your Narrative, Story & Behaviours, regarding the most personal dimensions of your Life Challenges.

My primary model of treatment is the Conversational Model which prioritises the therapeutic relationship; attunement to what is happening in the moment in the therapy room.
I believe we are all doing the best we can with what we've got, but sometimes we don't have the right skills or viewpoint from which to understand and resolve the issues that cause us to suffer. Our old coping strategies fail and we become stressed, depressed, anxious, isolated, angry, fed up, stuck, lost or hopeless. And there's a voice in us that says we've got to figure it out for ourselves, we mustn't burden others or others won't understand us. I'll listen deeply and work beside you to find your own answers, in a confidential, non judgemental, safe space. We all need to be seen and understood and to understand ourselves.

If you're struggling with anxiety, thoughts that won't let you go, relationship challenges, or self-doubt, this happens to all of us as life puts pressure on us.
For individuals, I use methods to build resilience to any difficult thoughts or feelings, get them out in the open, make sense of them, and then build practical methods to manage them. For couples, we unpack how you operate together, what you bring the relationship individually, both struggles and strengths, and how that affects the dynamic between you.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While the need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
