I start with building the base work using client centred counselling, hearing your story of late, getting a sense of who you are - I use a psychodymanic approach that looks at your upbringing, relationships with parents and partners, often finding the partterns that may be keeping you stuck - I aslo use parts work with IFS and CBT when appropriate for clients.
If you’re looking for some who knows the go with culture, religion and family life in the middle of that, then you and I are going to be a great fit! I’m a trauma informed psychotherapist with a Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling, I understand a lot of our problems are political in nature and I understand the nature of family dynamics’s of those from an ethnic background. I’m here to be with you as you find out more about yourself, and your relationships that surround you.

I offer powerful, evidence-based therapy that combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), IFS, Hypnotherapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Schema therapies.
Empowering and supportive therapy, helping you heal past trauma, build healthier relationships, and reconnect with your true self. Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of themselves. You might be struggling in your relationship, repeating the same painful patterns, or feeling lost after a breakup. Maybe you have been carrying the weight of past trauma for a long time, and it is starting to affect how you see yourself and your place in the world. I understand how trauma can impact relationships, creating hard to break patterns that leave you feeling disconnected, or unworthy of love.

Therapy is a great place to learn more about yourself and how your experiences have shaped that. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy that acknowledges the interconnectedness of mental, emotional, social, and physical wellbeing and use a non-pathologising, accepting approach. I see the problem as the problem, not the person. By creating distance between yourself and the challenges you face, we can engage in collaborative, respectful, and non-blaming conversations to foster an environment of empathy and understanding. I use somatic enquiry and techniques to recognise and process your body’s inner sensations: Interoception.

You’re self-aware and reflective, but life still feels heavy. Anxiety, panic, low motivation, or past trauma may be getting in the way. You try to connect with others but often withdraw or react in ways that leave you feeling ashamed or misunderstood. Even rest doesn't feel restful. Deep down, you sense that something isn’t right. You’re not broken...you’re just stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You want to feel calm, clear, and connected again, and to start living with more confidence and ease.

I integrate Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST), which looks at how past trauma is affecting your present, with Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy combined with IFS, Somatic, and Compassion focused therapy to help you manage living in your best way.
My ideal counselling client is someone who may be late-diagnosed or curious about being an Autistic or an ADHD person who needs support in figuring out how to deal with life their way. They are willing to actively participate in the therapeutic process by becoming aware, curious, and nonjudgemental toward themselves and others. They may have experienced trauma through growing up and want to find a safe person to help them heal and find better ways of living in the present.

Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing EMDR, Clinical Hypnosis, Mindfulless, ACT, IFS complimented by CBT.
You’ve done the work, reflected deeply, and tried to understand yourself, yet certain patterns still pull you back. Even when you know better, old reactions return and you feel frustrated that insight alone hasn’t been enough. You want to feel grounded, stable and aligned with the person you know you can be. As a trauma‑informed psychologist, I use EMDR and strengths‑based approaches to help reduce triggers, shift unhelpful patterns and support meaningful, lasting change.

I also have training in various psychological modalities (DBT, IFS, Gestalt, for example) but feel this is just therapist babble!
I am passionate about partnering with people to help them tolerate extreme emotion, to learn and grow and be free to choose new behaviours. I have decades of lived and years of clinical experience with Alcohol and Other Drugs use and abuse and the traumas that so often lead to it and arise from it. I have understanding of complex PTSD and the Autonomic Nervous System and the ways our experiences get laid down in our systems and repeat themselves, often causing relationship upsets.

Life's for sure a roller coaster. Along with the ups, there will naturally be downs - illness, pain, worry, conflict, transitions and loss. Sometimes we hang on for the ride and know who will be in the seat beside us; at other times, we can feel pummelled, adrift or alone in our experience. Being heard, seen and validated can begin a process of deep understanding and change. I am a degree-qualified Therapist and eating disorder clinician who feels passionate about providing ethical, evidence-based support to all clients, no matter their concern.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
