There's a particular kind of tired that comes from holding it all together on the outside while everything underneath feels like it's barely keeping up. With this can come anxiety, overwhelm, rage, and maybe even a sense of having lost yourself somewhere along the way. I work with women across Cronulla and the Sutherland Shire, in person and online, supporting them to create space for what's been asking to be felt, and find their way back to feeling lighter, more resourced, and more in control. Reach out for a free 20-minute consultation

I’m Jemima, a registered counsellor in Caringbah, Sutherland Shire. I support women (and some men) who are carrying a lot - often holding everything together on the outside, while inside feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stretched thin, or exhausted. You might be navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, parenting pressures, perfectionism, relationship strain… or simply a season of life that feels heavier than you expected. If you’re used to being the capable or dependable one, counselling can be a place where you don’t have to keep it all together. My experience spans community counselling, bereavement care, hospitals, and crisis support.

I’m Hana, a therapist and mum of two, and just like you, I know what it’s like to be in the thick of it, overwhelmed, triggered, stretched thin, and still wanting more for yourself and your family. Together, we focus on the things that matter most: caring for yourself without guilt, learning to regulate your emotions even in the chaos, and finding ways to ease and share the mental load. It can be overwhelming and daunting to find a therapist who understands you, your story and your life. You don’t want the “cookie cutter”answers or quick fixes because it feeds into the dissatisfaction and feelings of being unheard.

Life doesn't always unfold the way we expect, and there are times when life's challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or stuck. Sometimes these struggles are connected to past experiences that continue to impact how we see ourselves, relate to others, and navigate the world around us. I believe that therapy begins with feeling safe, heard, and accepted. My approach is warm, compassionated, and collaborative, providing a non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to explore your experiences at your own pace.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioural therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviours. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.
