Psychotherapist, PACFA

I'm an IFS therapist and PACFA registered counsellor, with over 13 years across hospitals, rehabs and community services and a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health and Neuroscience.
Most people who reach out to me are holding it together on the outside. Working, showing up, doing the things. Underneath, something has been carrying too much for too long. Trauma, addiction, anxiety, burnout, grief, relationship stress, or that stuck feeling that's hard to name. Some don't know where to begin, only that things can't keep going the way they have. Therapy is a place to slow down and make sense of what's been happening, at your pace.

I work with Internal Family Systems ( IFS), somatic and body-based therapy, Gottman Method, ACT, attachment-based and expressive therapies.
There's a particular kind of tired that comes from holding it all together on the outside while everything underneath feels like it's barely keeping up. With this can come anxiety, overwhelm, rage, and maybe even a sense of having lost yourself somewhere along the way. I work with women across Cronulla and the Sutherland Shire, in person and online, supporting them to create space for what's been asking to be felt, and find their way back to feeling lighter, more resourced, and more in control. Maybe you're dealing with anxiety, low mood, or the weight of something from your past that still sits with you. Maybe a life event or your current circumstances have left you feeling disconnected from yourself and from the people around you. Often there's a sense of going through the motions, surviving rather than really living, alongside a quiet hope that things could feel different. Whatever has brought you here, we'll take time to understand what's really going on underneath it without rushing or judgement. Together we make sense of the patterns shaping how you think, feel and relate, so you can start to feel more like yourself.

For many clients, I incorporate attachment-based, Internal Family Systems and trauma-informed approaches.
I help people understand how difficult or painful relationship experiences shape connection, trust, boundaries and self-worth. You may find yourself overthinking relationships, people pleasing, struggling to trust, fearing rejection or feeling lonely, anxious or not good enough. You may notice yourself reacting in ways you don't fully understand, or finding yourself caught in patterns that seem to repeat. These patterns can show up with partners, family, friendships, work, dating or parenting.

You've been in survival mode for so long that you're no longer sure who you are beneath the anxiety, exhaustion, self-doubt, and constant effort of trying to make sense of what happened. I specialise in supporting individuals navigating the lasting impact of narcissistic relationships, family estrangement, high-conflict relationships, and the complex realities of no-contact decisions. My approach is relational and paced. You won't be rushed, minimised or have to justify yourself. Change can feel achievable, not overwhelming.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
