I am a clinical psychologist who works across a variety of presentations including anxiety and mood disorders. I hope to bring a warm, empathic and authentic approach to the issues that people bring to therapy. I recognise the investment that people make when they share their difficulties with someone and commit to therapy, and work to honour that commitment by delivering evidence based treatments, that are tailored to a persons needs. I’ve benefitted greatly from the experience of working across a range of inpatient and outpatient hospital settings.

Together we build insight, emotional awareness, and practical skills for more secure and satisfying connections, drawing on CBT, schema therapy, DBT, ACT, and Gottman-informed work
You may be noticing the same difficult patterns playing out in your relationships, work, or emotional life, such as repeated relationship breakdowns, conflict with others, or feeling overwhelmed, shut down, or unsure how to change. You are likely thoughtful and curious about yourself, yet confused about why these patterns exist or where they came from. You want to understand yourself more deeply and find ways to relate to others with more confidence and ease.

I utilise a solution-focused, integrative approach, including CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy and EMDR.
You may be navigating a difficult life transition, managing a complex personal history, or seeking a truly affirmative space within the LGBTQIA+ community. Many of my clients feel "stuck" in cycles of persistent stress, relationship conflict, or emotional exhaustion and want more than just a listener; they want a clear strategy for change. Your goal is to move past the mental fog to regain a sense of purpose and connection. You need a professional who understands that your well-being is tied to your values and that you deserve a life where you feel in control, rather than just reacting to the next challenge.

EMDR, Schema Therapy and ACT are the most common modalities used in sessions, though through exploration in the first few sessions which direction is best suited will be worked out together in line with your goals/what you would like.
Please know: I am currently not taking on any clients. Therapy can be a big step and decision and it is important that your therapist is someone you feel safe and supported by, that you are respected and so are your strengths and capacities. I work in a holistic and supportive way working with clients to heal, and achieve the outcomes that they choose. I have worked for a number of years with survivors of childhood sexual assault, adult sexual assault, intimate partner and other violence and also work with those who use violence.

My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and neuro-affirming, integrating CBT, ACT, IFS parts work, attachment-based therapy, and practical ADHD coaching. Using collaborative intersectional frameworks while maintaining authenticity, empathy and curiosity, we make sense of patterns, reduce shame, and build realistic, sustainable ways of moving forward.

Some things are hard to name — and even harder to carry alone. If you're living with the weight of trauma, navigating life across cultures, or working through challenges that feel too layered for a short-term fix, you've found the right space. I work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds ready for something deeper: real, ongoing work that meets you where you are — not where a system expects you to be. Migrant, refugee, and multicultural communities — people who grew up between worlds, navigating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, OCD, or borderline presentations and never quite finding a service that reached them.

I am trained in CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema therapy and EMDR.
I'm a firm believer that everyone could benefit from seeing a psychologist. We may not think twice about seeing GPs, physios, optometrists etc, all of which are important. But so is our psychological and emotional health. Whether you are facing a mental illness, going through a tough season of life, or wanting to learn how to optimise your relationships, please reach out. It is a privilege to be invited into your personal world so that you can be truly heard and seen. Therapy can help you gain insight and make changes that perhaps have been too hard to face until now. All of this will be at your own pace and questions are welcome.

Schema Therapy
How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy is based on the idea that maladaptive thought patterns formed in childhood—that other people can never be relied on, for example—can interfere with healthy functioning in adulthood. Accordingly, schema therapy works by directly targeting such unhealthy schemas, identifying their consequences, and replacing them with more adaptive ways of thinking. To this end, schema therapists aim to “reparent” the client by offering what they didn’t get in childhood—validation, for instance, or compassion—to reorient their worldview.

Is schema therapy evidence-based?
Schema therapy is still considered relatively new, and research on its efficacy is still in progress. However, some studies have concluded that it can be effective at treating certain mental health conditions, most notably personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder. Evidence for its efficacy in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD is promising but less conclusive, and experts warn that much of the existing research is of low quality.

Is schema therapy a type of CBT?
Schema therapy is based on many principles of CBT, most notably the process of recognising and challenging maladaptive thought patterns. But because schema therapy also draws from other approaches, including psychoanalysis and Gestalt therapy, it is not considered a form of CBT. It also typically delves deeper into the client’s childhood than does CBT.

How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy does not call for a set number of sessions and is instead open-ended, with the treatment timeline depending on the client’s primary concern(s), progress, and preferences. Treatment that lasts between six months and two years is common, though many clients will start to see progress much earlier than that.
