Through my therapeutic work I have realised that in order to heal and resolve our deep emotional wounds we must focus on the whole picture, our mind, body and our soul. If we want to create lasting transformation, we must switch off the autopilot, our habitual thoughts and behavioural patterns that have been working against us. We must be willing to take the first steps towards discovering who we truly are. Discovering our true authentic self and our worth, is the most empowering experience that we can achieve on our healing journey. In the words of E. Tolle, “You do not become good by trying to be good, but by finding the goodness

I am a Clinical Psychologist who works collaboratively with adults to provide a warm, thoughtful, and non-judgemental therapy space. Together, we can make sense of your difficulties, explore patterns that may be contributing to them, and deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships. I work primarily from a psychodynamic framework, while drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other approaches to suit each person’s needs. Where possible, I work with people not only on managing symptoms but also on addressing the causes underlying these symptoms.

I help clients understand how early experiences can show up in the present as anxiety, low mood, people-pleasing, conflict, compulsive behaviours, difficulties with food/body image and self-harm.
Do you feel stuck in exhausting cycles of guilt, shame or self-doubt, even while appearing to function well on the outside? Difficult home environments, trauma, or neurodivergence may have shaped how you see yourself, leaving you silently battling intense thoughts and emotions. Perhaps you’ve been through painful experiences that others (or yourself) might not see as trauma yet they’ve had a deep impact. Trauma isn’t always one big event; it can come from ongoing experiences like emotional neglect, criticism, bullying, or growing up around conflict. My passion is working with complex trauma often accompanied with neurodivergence.

You may function well on the outside yet find yourself stuck in recurring patterns, in your relationship, within yourself, or in how you respond when triggered. You may understand the problem intellectually but still find yourself reacting in ways you later regret. I work with thoughtful, emotionally aware individuals and couples who want to understand what is happening beneath the surface and respond differently. My approach is warm, direct and structured, helping you move from feeling stuck or disconnected toward greater clarity, choice and connection.

I enjoy working with adults who are wanting to improve their life in a meaningful way, whether that means overcoming a repeating pattern in relationships, dealing with anger, stopping a particular behaviour, confronting fears and anxieties, or coping with grief.
Before I worked as a clinical psychologist, I was a professional musician. This line of work taught me a lot. I found that the best music is made when one listens carefully, and responds to what is happening in the moment, rather than simply reciting familiar material. I bring the same philosophy to my work as a psychologist. It is incredibly important to first listen, and deeply understand the goals of the individual, which then guide the direction of therapy.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
