I show up authentically in sessions, creating a laid back space of relatedness and wholehearted acceptance.
I'm a registered psychologist with a grounded, compassionate, and down-to-earth approach. I meet clients where they’re at - with empathy, curiosity, and care - offering evidence-based, and tailored support. I'm passionate about helping people heal from complex trauma and reconnect with their authentic core. My work draws on EMDR, polyvagal and psychodynamic theory, as well as parts work. When it suits the client, I can also incorporate nature and horses into the process for deeper insight and growth.

Welcome! Finding the right psychologist can be a daunting process- especially if you have experienced trauma in the past. I want to acknowledge how much courage it takes to even begin the search. I would describe myself as a passionate and dedicated clinical psychologist who brings warmth, authenticity, and genuine care into the therapy space. I work from a trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective. This means I deeply understand how our past experiences shape our current relationships, emotions, health, and sense of self.

I draw on somatic practices, acceptance and commitment therapy while remaining entirely centred on you and what you want/need.
When women start drifting towards 40 and beyond, something shifts. Nobody warns you. Just all of a sudden, things hit a little differently. There's often an inner rage that is harder to contain. The body is changing and shifting, right along with your tolerance levels. Relationships are becoming a lot more challenging to navigate. Sometimes a sense of despair, and an inner voice asking, 'is this really all there is', can start to get uncomfortably loud. And something else can happen... old wounds we thought we'd long forgotten, start becoming raw again. "I thought I was over this stuff..." - a not infrequent thought.

As a neuroaffirming clinician I take a client centred and strengths approach, respecting your unique neurotype and what works best for you! What might we talk about in therapy? Almost anything! Perhaps it's stress, anxiety or depression, your neurodivergent identity (ADHD/Autism), the assessment process (I can provide post diagnosis support/coaching for ADHD and Autism), the executive functions of the brain or substance use difficulties. Or maybe its parent support (raising neurodivergent children), strategies for time management, procrastination, emotion regulation or values identification...the list goes on!

I integrate CBT, ACT, DBT and EMDR within a trauma-informed framework to support emotional regulation, processing and sustainable change.
Many of the adults I work with have spent years feeling misunderstood or overwhelmed. They might be navigating ADHD, autism spectrum traits or longstanding trauma, often without clear formulation or integrated support. Some have received a late diagnosis or recognise high masking patterns. Others struggle with emotional regulation, relationship strain or persistent distress that has not shifted with short-term approaches. They want clarity, stability and a deeper understanding of themselves.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
