I specialise in working with women with ADHD (or those wishing to be evaluated), anxiety, and overwhelm, as well as couples where ADHD is a factor.
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about where you’re headed? Maybe you’re navigating a big life change, trying to juggle work, relationships, and the endless expectations placed on you, or struggling to manage the weight of burnout or anxiety. Perhaps you’re adjusting to a new ADHD diagnosis and wondering how to make sense of it all. Deep down, you know you want clarity, balance, and to feel more in control. You’re craving a life that feels fulfilling and authentic - but right now, it all feels a bit too much. I’m here to help you make sense of what’s going on and create the tools you need to move forward.

Therapy is a very personal experience so it’s important that you feel comfortable with your therapist and believe they’re a good fit for you. People will decide to see a psychologist for a range of different reasons... Often they’re experiencing some kind of stress, relationship difficulties, trauma or addiction… or sometimes they feel they just need someone to talk to. We start by talking about what brings you to the session. You may have clearly defined goals of what you’d like to achieve or, perhaps you’re not sure and you’re just trying to get a better understanding of yourself and your life experiences. Therapy is also about encouraging you to consider different ways of thinking, trying new strategies and learning new skills. It's ok if you feel that you’re stepping outside of your comfort zone. It’s not always easy to be in therapy, it takes a lot of courage to start, and to continue the process.

With a deeply curious and open-minded approach, I work in a way that integrates the paradigms of ancient wisdom and evidence based practice. I believe that there is a unique intelligence behind the challenges or experiences individuals bring to therapy. I aim to be led by this inherent intelligence, with an understanding that we all have a natural inclination towards health and wholeness when we are provided with the appropriate support.

Hi, I'm Lexie, the Kink Counsellor. Life is messy and imperfect. Sexuality and identity is a lifelong journey. So many of us are limited in our exploration due to shame, stigma, or lack of sexuality education. I believe in a sex-positive approach which acknowledges and celebrates the diversity of human sexuality, identity and expression. When we are informed, empowered and validated, we live happier and more authentic lives.

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
