I work best with people who genuinely want to move toward greater peace, clarity, and connection. You might come to therapy because: You carry anxiety or depression that doesn’t feel resolved despite your best efforts You’ve experienced trauma, grief, or loss, and the past still shows up in your thoughts, moods, or relationships You find yourself repeating negative patterns—old schemas—that keep you frustrated, stuck, or in conflict Parts of you feel fragmented or in conflict. You’re in a relationship that’s struggling—communication is poor, trust is strained, or you feel disconnected

I am a psychotherapist who works with the person directly in front me. I collaborate with each person to unlock the inner knowing contained within their bodies. Our bodies hold an intuitive wisdom with a huge potential for healing and growth. We only need learn how to communicate the body’s language. Symptoms like depression and anxiety are not treated as problems but rather explored as experiences in the body being communicated. When we meet them as bound up processes that are seeking to be freed, we find these processes have a purpose with our best intentions at heart.

I work with impulse control, anger, LGBTQIA+ identity, chronic illness, complex trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, shame and men's wellbeing.
Many of us were never taught how to understand our own patterns, why we react the way we do, why certain things keep repeating, why managing alone isn't enough. As adults, these patterns affect our work, relationships and sense of self in ways we don't always see clearly. With the right support, real change is possible.

Why does it seem that everything in this world is perfectly connected, except the way we relate to external relationships and, conversely, our internal self? If you're struggling to make sense of it all or if you experience a range of mild to severe psychological symptoms that prevent you from living your life to the fullest, we are here for you.

Compassion for the human condition and the premise that we are not passive victims of our circumstances but have freedom to choose how we want to be, are the main foundations I work with. I believe that we all possess the natural self-healing capacity that is seated in the deep center of our being, and I see psychotherapy as the work of finding, unlocking and opening doors through which healing can flow, and seeds towards transformation can be nurtured. I also approach all the suffering and pain that clients present, as an opportunity to use the crisis for personal growth and as a pathway to a deeper connection with the true self.

Chronic Illness Therapists
How does therapy for chronic illness work?
Many people living with a chronic illness may feel they cannot speak honestly about their experience out of embarrassment or fear of being a burden, or because those close to them do not understand, for example, that they may “look good” even if they do not feel good. Therapy sessions are an opportunity to speak openly with someone who knows their symptoms are not in their head and who can offer practical, proven suggestions for managing feelings of grief, shame, or fatigue, such as techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts about symptoms and develop new ways to respond to them, such as distraction or calming breathing practices.

Can therapy help with physical symptoms of chronic illness?
Yes, especially if an individual with chronic illness has developed depression. People with depression are less likely to maintain their health treatment regimens or to take positive steps to manage physical symptoms when they arise, thereby potentially complicating their medical prognosis. Treatment of depression, through talk therapy, medication, or both, will often improve one’s physical state as it eases the emotional burden of illness.

What are the most effective treatment options for chronic illness?
No one living with a chronic illness, or their loved ones, should see depression as an unavoidable result of their condition. Instead, they should actively seek treatment. Research shows that people with depression are less likely to devote the required time and effort to maintaining or monitoring their health, and so therapy to limit the risk of depression can be vital for physical health as well. Therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction have been found to help individuals reduce stress and anxiety.

How long does therapy for chronic illness take?
There is no set timeline for therapy for people living with chronic illnesses, but many will see a therapist for a number of weeks or months, typically spanning at least 12 weekly sessions. Some people feel that they experience progress faster than others but even some who quickly feel improvement may continue with sessions for months or years. Some people may benefit from maintenance therapy if their symptoms change or they experience a decline in physical health. Others find that the skills learned in short-term therapy can be used on an ongoing basis, even after therapy has concluded.
