I draw on CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, somatic and mindfulness-based approaches, tailored to each person.
Most people don't reach out the moment things get hard. They get here after they've tried everything else: pushing through, staying busy, telling themselves it'll pass. If you're here, you've probably already done a lot of that. This is the next step. The work we do doesn't just help you feel better. It helps you understand yourself more clearly, build real skills, and make changes that stick. That's what I work toward with everyone I see. If you're looking for a psychologist who will be present, honest, and genuinely invested in your progress, I'd love to hear from you.

I'm a trauma-informed counsellor with extensive experience in DBT.
Many people come to counselling feeling stuck in survival mode. They are overwhelmed, constantly overthinking, emotionally reactive, or caught in the same relationship patterns they promised themselves they would not repeat. I work with people who are tired of analysing everything and still feeling the same. In our work together, we slow things down so you can understand what is driving your reactions, regulate your emotions, and respond differently with more clarity, control, and self-trust.

Over the past 25 years as a Psychologist, I have gained extensive experience in supporting children, adolescents, & adults from diverse cultural backgrounds and life experiences. Many of the individuals I work with are navigating the impacts of trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic stress, and/or significant life transitions. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that healing is not just about symptom reduction, but about restoring balance and wholeness. I honour the innate intelligence of both body and psyche as active partners in healing—each holding wisdom, stories, and the capacity for growth and transformation.

Have you finally gotten to the point where you're struggling to manage issues you have been holding onto for years? Or Do you often find yourself feeling quite stuck in the present? With the daily hustle of life, it can become very easy to neglect parts of ourselves that really need attention. Often there are unresolved issues or traumas from the past that have never been addressed and keep coming back to remind us that they're still there and need to be attended to. Unfortunately, they can keep coming back if we continue to ignore them.

My clients are often high-functioning adults who have spent years managing, achieving, and holding it together — and have reached a point where that's no longer enough. They may be dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, or trauma, or struggling with difficulties that haven't fully resolved with shorter-term support. Many have delayed seeking help; some have tried therapy before without lasting change. I offer a collaborative, thoughtful approach tailored to each person, drawing on evidence-based methods within a warm and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship.

Dialectical Behaviour (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behaviour and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behaviour, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioural change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behaviour; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
