About
I have an interest in working with young people from 16 years of age through to older adults. This includes working with individuals, families and couples with a range of concerns. My particular areas of interest are helping people with relationship and interpersonal issues, with a focus on couples counselling, support for step and blended families, and throughout separations. I also aim to support clients through other periods of major life transition such as new parents, young families, and adjustment to significant life events.
Employing relational and attachment-based therapies, I aim to work with clients on understanding how their past relationships have shaped current ones and then contributed to how they see themselves in the world. I incorporate a range of evidence-based interventions in treatment including Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), ACT, Mindfulness and mentalization.
I have a warm and relaxed style, placing value on creating a strong therapeutic relationship. My therapeutic style uses curiosity, openness, humour and empathy to help clients feel comfortable and focuses on helping individuals to develop a healthy sense of self. Offering a collaborative, non-judgmental and family inclusive approach to treatment.
