My clients seek my services for many reasons. Their individual circumstances or concerns vary but ultimately they express a want for their lived experiences to be different. They may want to shift their relationship with themselves, or with others or they may want the time, space and trusting therapeutic relationship to authentically show up and be vulnerable and develop aspects of themselves or identify goals or different ways of being. Often the reasons individuals seek support may not be instantly clear. They may have an identified goal or a few and then as the therapeutic relationship develops, so does their own unique process.
I am a strong believer that our healing and transformation happens in safe relationships and this is the core focus of my practice. With more than 25 yrs experience as a counsellor / therapist (and clinical supervisor) in varied contexts, I bring specialist skills in humanistic, trauma informed, person-centred approaches (& others) and provide a safe space.
I have an astute capacity to connect and engage with my clients. I purposefully create an informal, authentic space where individuals feel comfortable to be vulnerable and real. I am respectful and ascribe to non pathologising and empowering practices, yet at the same time, very experienced working with individuals with lived experiences and diagnoses.
