The founder and Director 'Jen Rushani' is a qualified Child Play Therapist (Master of Child Play Therapy) with a background in Psychology and extensive career in Early Childhood Education and early intervention. Nature plus Nurture provide the following services, Child Play Therapy, Filial Therapy (educational model of family therapy), Adolescent Counselling, and a Learn to Play Program with a focus on building pretend play skills in young children.
Play Therapy harnesses the unique therapeutic powers of play to help children heal and bring about changes in behaviour, social, emotional, language, and physical development. It is suitable for a variety of presentations such as trauma, loss, parental separation/divorce, behavioural problems, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, GDD, Cerebral Palsy
We believe that every child, adolescent and family has the right to safety, security, opportunities to develop, and respect. Therefore, we take an integrative approach to play therapy and counselling, meaning we draw from several different modalities to fit your child, adolescent or family's unique needs.
