I bring passion and enthusiasm to my work and enjoy working with adolescents and adults presenting with a diverse range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, substance use, self-harm, mood disorders, trauma, self-esteem, relationship issues, life transitions and grief and loss. I approach the therapeutic process from a stance of resolving long-term behavioural, cognitive and relational patterns, that negatively present functioning and wellbeing. Clients will be interested in and committed to identifying and exploring underlying causes of current distress.
Through my years of practice, I have developed an interest in working with complex trauma resulting from abuse, neglect (physical/emotional), exposure to violence/substance use, bullying, exploitation or marginalization. I utilize a variety of approaches including, psychodynamic and EMDR, which are tailored based on individual needs
I work from a collaborative, non-judgmental and empathic stance, to provide a safe space where client’s feel supported and empowered to address underlying concerns, develop insight and increase self-confidence. I passionately believe in human capacity for growth and change, and for creation of a meaningful and fulfilling life.
