Maree is a provisional psychologist completing her sixth year internship at The Shire Psychology. She is dedicated to helping individuals of all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds, navigate life’s challenges and achieve personal goals and mental wellness. Maree can provide a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to share and explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Maree has experience working with individuals experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, traumatic stress, autism, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning, parenting, dementia, substance use and schizophrenia.
Maree’s approach to therapy is holistic, collaborative and trauma-informed and she integrates evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into her practice.
Maree also has an interest in creative and music therapy and likes to incorporate this into her practice where suitable. Maree also has ample, life experience, and a previous career in urban planning and environment. Maree has travelled widely and is passionate about understanding and celebrating different cultures.
