Welcome to my page! I'm Mahasen Jamal, the founder and director of Sakinah Counselling. I am an accredited counsellor and clinical supervisor with the Australian Counselling Association. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Social Health and Counselling. With over fourteen years of experience across leading organisations and schools, I have had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, and women from linguistically diverse backgrounds on their healing journeys. My passion lies in creating a therapeutic space where cultural differences are not just acknowledged but deeply respected and integrated.
Everyone brings their own experiences, perceptions, and values to therapy, and I believe honouring these elements is essential for true, meaningful healing. My vision is to empower clients to embrace their inner strengths and work towards a more balanced, fulfilled life.
Common areas I have worked with include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and self-esteem. Sessions can be delivered remotely and face-to-face.
