Hi I'm Jamie. I graduated from the University of Queensland in 2001 achieving a bachelor of Social Work. I am a well season counsellor and have been supporting and counselling people from all walks life for over 20 years. My number 1 focus through this period was to bring hope and value to the people I work with and continues to be so. My experience is quite broad covering individual couple and family therapy. My experience also has a strong mental health focus including anxiety, depression PTSD and CPTSD. I have learned to listen. To recognise resilience and to support with ever knowledge I have to build or rebuild lives.
Given my time in the field I can work with any age or background and have trained in various parenting modalities, attachment, trauma informed practice, relationship counselling,. I am also a registered EMDR practitioner with the EMDRA institute. EMDR is recognised as one of the most effective therapies to address PTSD and CPTSD in the world.
Life is beautiful. My agenda for any person that I meet in the counselling room is to provide a safe and warm environment and work on getting to the core of what is troubling you. The rest of the therapy is to walk with you and provide whatever resources I can to empower and support your health and well being.
