Hi I am Chris, a registered counsellor and EMDR therapist. I help clients with past or recent trauma; family and relationship problems, men's issues, personal issues such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss (including animal companions), self esteem and body image; work related issues including bullying and burnout. I work with individual adults and provide a supportive environment to enable you to discuss your problems openly and without judgement. I help my clients to develop practical strategies to help manage, or resolve their issues and make positive changes in their life. I work with a range of evidence-based therapies.
I am an experienced EMDR therapist. EMDR is used to treat trauma-related mental health conditions. I also use Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help clients change unhelpful ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. I offer Narrative Therapy to helping individuals reframe their life stories and develop new perspectives.
I have a friendly and compassionate style to help you to feel comfortable opening up about your problems without judgement. I follow the Code of Ethics for the Australian Counselling Association. I offer face to face sessions in Point Lonsdale, as well as video (Teams) and telephone.
