Kirsten Jane Williams

Psychologist, PsyBA General

Kirsten is an experienced Psychologist & Child Psychotherapist who specialises in working with adults and children who are experiencing emotional difficulties stemming from traumatic and painful life events. Trauma can profoundly impact on a person’s ability to enjoy life, feel safe and have healthy relationships with those close to them. It can leave people feeling isolated, powerless, hypervigilant and full of shame, and such symptoms can continue long after the traumatic event has ended and may impact on a person's relationships and sense of self at different stages throughout their life.

Neurobiological research has enriched practitioners understanding of how they can help people to heal and experience post traumatic growth even after experiencing unspeakable traumas. Kirsten’s practice is informed by a range of evidenced-based interventions. Kirsten specialises in trauma informed & attachment based psychotherapies & is trained in EMDR.

Kirsten values diversity and is committed to working flexibly & collaboratively with her clients, supporting them to heal from the effects of trauma. Her consulting room is located in a lovely & welcoming old terrace building in East Melbourne. Please feel free to visit Kirsten's website and to contact her to book an initial free phone consultation.
