It can be difficult to talk about our emotions out loud. Art therapy offers a safe space to for us to visualize, rather than verbalize, our inside world. My role as an art therapist is to help people use creative materials to express what they are feeling. Together, we learn to understand these feelings and explore what we can do to make them feel manageable.
My art therapy experience largely comes from working with young people living with AOD dependance and children in out-of-homecare. I have completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts, majoring in Visual arts and Creative Writing at University Of Wollongong (UOW) and a Master of Art Therapy at WSU.
