I am a Senior Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years experience working with children and adolescents with medical complexity. I have worked at the Royal Children's Hospital in various medical teams and currently hold a Senior Clinical Educator position at RCH. I have experience working with adjustment to illness and medical regimens, medical trauma, neurodevelopment disorders, behavioural difficulties and anxiety and mood disturbances.
I also specialise in working with children with complex bowel and bladder conditions and who may require intrusive treatments and have difficulties with self-esteem. I work with parents in the adjustment to their child’s medical condition, which may be unexpected following birth or later in childhood. These experiences can be very isolating and challenging.
I take a neuroaffirming approach to all children and their families and have significant experience working with neurodivergence. My therapeutic approach may include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Based Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
