I work with clients to explore and understand what is going on in their lives and within themselves, so they can live differently. My experience shows that clients often know what they do not like about themselves and their lives. However, it can be tricky to flip the coin and identify, at a deeper level, their needs and what they truly value. I listen carefully and help you understand yourself.
Together we identify goals and work towards them. There is no one size fits all plan or type of therapy that provides a magic wand. However there are better ways of doing therapy over others.
Counseling requires a careful balance between working through difficulty and being with you so you do not feel alone, while also being practical so you remain functional. Feeling safe is key. A key factor is understanding how our bodies, specifically our nervous system, react when we feel under threat—education & practical tools for resetting the NS matter.
Effective counseling requires an honest, collaborative relationship between the therapist and the client. Why? Because if we are honest, the harm that is done to us in life is often done by people. This can affect our trust in others and the way we relate. Sometimes in therapy, it's the relationship itself that is healing. I am glad you are here!
