I am a Masters qualified Art Therapist with almost 20 yrs experience working in disability and mental health. I am an approved Victims Services Counsellor and a registered provider of therapeutic supports under the NDIS.
Supporting people to feel safe and comfortable to be themselves is at the core of all that I do. I would describe my style as authentic, warm, gentle, and down-to-earth. I am observant and genuinely curious about people. I have sat with people from all walks of life and have heard many stories. I can handle complexity and am able to bring calm in chaos.
I am passionate about trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice. I have an autistic son and come from an ND family. This lived experience informs my approach and responses.
I am the manager of Newcastle Music & Art Therapy, where we have a team of art and music therapists offering individual music therapy & individual art therapy for all ages and abilities. Our sessions are flexible and adapted to suit people's interests, needs and goals. You don't need any previous experience with art or music - just come as you are!
