My counselling practice specialises in trauma informed and evidence based therapeutic interventions. I believe in the importance of providing a safe space for persons to build trust and rapport, in order to then discuss and establish their goals for therapy and to work together to achieve these goals, from a client centred approach. Respect, honesty , trust , empathy and compassion are core values at the heart of my practice.
I have worked across child & family services, family violence, sexual assault, victim support services, child & youth mental health, generalist counselling for men, women, children & counselling support within schools. I have worked as a trauma informed mental health clinician for over 20 years. I am registered with WorkSafe Victoria and Carer Gateway.
People seek counselling for a variety of reasons, but the key goal is to be heard, to feel respected and to feel safe in sharing your story. Human beings are wired for connection and there are times in life when we need professional assistance, beyond what friends and family can provide.
