I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Counsellor and Psychotherapist and have worked for many years across health, mental health and palliative care settings with people with varied issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, suicidality and adjusting to living with life threatening and limiting illness, grief and loss. I specialise in working with people experiencing dissociation, especially those identifying as living with DID, plurality, gender and/or neurodiversity.
I am fascinated by exploration of the deeper meanings behind the conflicts and stresses that bring people to therapy and have a particular interest in understanding and working with people whose lives have been impacted by the long-term effects of childhood experiences. All my work is informed by my own personal journey of healing from complex trauma.
My approach to the development of our therapeutic relationship is based on my studies in Gestalt psychotherapy, together with my understanding of modern developments in psychodynamics, attachment and developmental themes, the neurobiology of trauma and loss and how these experiences are embodied.
