I have 20 years experience providing therapeutic counselling for children, young people, families and adults. I hold a particular interest in supporting people who have experienced traumatic events, helping them navigate the effects of this and move towards healing. One of the primary modalities I utilise to do this is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Clients also meet with me when they need some extra support to navigate through life’s many challenges, including experiencing stress and anxiety, life transitions or relationship difficulties. I am passionate about helping parents and carers support their children through hard times and to feel confident to respond to their children’s emotional needs.
I create a safe and warm therapeutic space where I hear people’s stories and help them work out their best hopes for counselling and their lives. I work from a strengths-based perspective, seeking out the knowledge and values that people bring to the counselling space. I use a variety of different therapeutic models and work in hopeful and creative ways.
