Welcome, my name is Jimena and I am a registered psychotherapist based in St Kilda East.
I work with people who are suffering which can take many forms - loss, trauma, grief, substance use, relationship breakdowns , lack of meaning and life transitions. I approach this work with warmth, understanding and without judgement. I see pain as an inevitable part of being human and I find that it is that when a person is supported with care to actually turn towards what hurts that often there is an opportunity to experience relief, explore what truly matters, grow and find purpose.
Over the past five years, I’ve worked as a therapist in women’s prisons, a psychiatric addiction hospital, and community clinics. I am an active, engaged therapist not someone who simply sits back and listens. I offer reflection, insight, challenge, and collaboration so we can work together in a way that supports meaningful change.
In addition to individual counselling and psychotherapy I also offer psychedelic-assisted therapy. This can involve integration sessions to support your psychedelic experiences and also private clinical psychedelic-assisted therapy to suitable people who are experiencing PTSD or treatment-resistant depression.
