I see individuals, couples and families who want to understand themselves better and make changes that will bring about better functioning in their everyday life. My style is empathic, conversational and curious. Relationship patterns from early life usually continue into adulthood. An important part of the therapeutic work is to bring these patterns into awareness and consider which ones are still useful and which ones are no longer serving you well. I’m guided by psychodynamic theory and systems theory.
I specialise in Individuals, couples, adjustment to parenting in the pre and post natal period. I work with depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma and grief. My aim is to assist you in expressing your concerns, fears, hopes and goals and to facilitate a deeper exploration and understanding of how your difficulties have come about.
Counselling and psychotherapy can give you a positive experience of being deeply listened to. Taking time out for self reflection is a form of self care that can lead to a stronger sense of self and improved functioning in life and relationships. It can possibly lead to being more reflective rather than reactive and you hopefully will feel kinder to yourself
