I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Therapist with over 30 years experience working with individuals, couples and families. I treat a wide range of mental health issues including anxierty, depression and attachment injury I offer a mix of practical strategies (such as ACT, CBT and mnidfulness) and deeper exploration of your feelings and experiences. I am particularly interested in the emotions and beliefs we hold that get us stuck in problematic and repetitive patterns of relating. By becoming aware of these patterns, we can step out of distress and conflict and rebuild connection to ourself and significant others.
My approach moves away from blame and criticism, instead focusing on compassion, acceptance of our past experiences and how they have shaped us. This process helps to repair connections and relationships. I listen empathically and hold you gently and patiently throughout this process.
I also have lived experience of physical disability. I can offer counselling services to NDIS self managed and plan managed participants. My aim is to support you to achieve your NDIS plan goals and build your physical, emotional and mental capacity.
