Hi, I’m Jake (he/they). I approach therapy as a process of mutual respect, curiosity, and genuine connection, shaped by my own experiences navigating neurodivergence and my queer identity. My years as a musician in the alternative music scene taught me the power of community and the importance of embracing authenticity - principles I carry into my therapy practice, where the focus is on building an authentic relationship and genuine connection. Having often felt out of place in systems that value conformity, I acknowledge the courage it takes to stand against these systems and embrace your unique self.
I practice from a person-centred, depathologising perspective, adapting my approach to your unique self. I have a background in trauma-informed practices, and recognise the ways that marginalised bodies are impacted by oppressive systems, integrating this awareness into our work. Your individual expression and self-determination are valid and powerful.
I know reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, especially when the world can feel impossibly chaotic. If you’re navigating life, identity, anxiety, trauma, you're existentially lost, or just feeling a bit out of sync, I'm here for a chat. Check out my website for more details and my availabilities - Click the "My Website" link on this page.
