With the presence of horses, Ingrid has an interest in helping clients affected by trauma such as first responders, military personnel, and NDIS participants for whom room-based therapy is overwhelming or boring. Anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem are common reasons individuals seek equine-assisted therapy. Ingrid has volunteer experience as a Lifeline crisis supporter and as a mentor for the Fearless Women program. NDIS clients are welcome.
Ingrid works in a kind, compassionate, trauma-informed capacity. Research indicates that psychotherapy with horses offers unique opportunities to build psychological flexibility, social skills, and self-reflection in a safe, authentic environment.
Ingrid completed her psychology honours thesis on equine-assisted psychotherapy. She is a registered counsellor and provisional psychologist.
