My therapy approach is trauma-sensitive, attachment-based and acknowledges that suppressed emotion and unresolved trauma is held in the body. Avoiding our emotions is one of the main contributors to mental health issues and my approach provides a greater understanding of our emotions and the behaviours that go with them. Our emotions organise our inner experience and avoiding them means missing out on the vital information they hold. For lasting change to occur, we must fully engage with our emotions, rather than fear them.
Many of our current issues stem from beliefs & strategies developed in childhood. These may have been smart adaptations as a child, but may not serve us as adults. We unconsciously structure our lives around childhood wounds & behave in ways that maintain them. Therapy helps identify the beliefs and behaviours that have become so habituated we are blind to.
Therapy only works when we find the right therapist. Get in touch for a free 15 minute video or phonecall, to enquire about fees & to see if we are a good fit. Bookings can also be made via the website. I look forward to meeting you.
