Freedom Within Psychology is a NDIS registered provider based in Ipswich. Founded by Maxine Clayton, a warm and emphatic general psychologist with over 30 yrs experienced working in the disability sector. She has a strong focus on reconnecting people with their values to live a positive, confident life and support meaningful change. Maxine's primary work is focused on NDIS participants through home, school or telehealth appointments. Maxine currently has capacity for new NDIS participants. She travels to Lowood, Logan, Rosewood areas. Telehealth appointments via phone or video are also welcome.
In collaboration and consideration of individual client goals Maxine works from a strengths-based approach using the latest evidence based practice. She has training and experience in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Developmental, Individual-differences and Relationships (DIR) Floortime.
With over 25 yrs experience working within the disability sector Maxine has a thorough understanding of the daily aspects of disabilities and the impact upon family and carers. Maxine has experience supporting people with mental health, suicide and self-harm.
