Melissa works with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, trauma, life transitions and coping with change, work-place stress and relationship issues. She offers short and longer-term therapy to clients from adolescence (13+) to adulthood. Melissa recognises that taking the leap and making an appointment to see a psychologist can be very daunting. People are often unsure whether counselling is right thing for them. To alleviate this distress, she will contact you and discuss your concerns and answer any questions you may have prior to your session.
Melissa draws on a range of psychological perspectives and interventions to provide individualised and targeted support, including Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Solutions-focused Therapy, mindfulness and relaxation strategies.
Melissa is a firm believer that a trusting environment and positive relationship is fundamental to effect change and improve health and wellbeing.
