Isn’t this thing called life so interesting! The ups and downs and challenges we face as we live our lives. Humans are great problem solvers and mostly we can be pretty good at working things out. But sometimes we can’t – we can feel stuck, unsure, lost and more. Friends and family can be too close to be impartial, or might be part of what we are struggling with. This is where counselling can be useful. To sit with someone who hears and sees us as we are. Some days you might need to sit and cry, other times to have someone cheer you on as you lean in hard, and other times it might be to learn something new about yourself.
My primary role as a counsellor is to give you space – to talk (or not talk), to meet you where you are at and be with you as you work things out. Because you will. There’s magic in being able to share what’s going on with someone who can listen and let you be, without the expectations, pressures, judgements we might experience in our day to day lives.
Whatever you are going through, you don't need to do it alone. The secret to successful counselling is in the relationship between you and your counsellor.
