Elissa is experienced in providing therapy, consultation and Animal Assisted Interventions to people aged 7 years and above. She has a special interest in supporting those who:
Have experienced abuse, neglect and trauma at any stage of their lives;
Have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and their associated mental health conditions;
Are managing eating disorders in their adulthood.
Elissa also provides consultation sessions to Foster Carers and Parents with concerns regarding the Mental Health and Well Being of children under 14 years of age.
Since 2001 Elissa has worked in support and clinical settings for Government and Non-Government organisations. Elissa has held senior clinician and leadership positions at the The Smith Family, OzHelp Foundation, Child At Risk Health Unit (CARHU) and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
Elissa aims to develop a respectful, caring and non-judgmental therapeutic partnership with those who come to see her. She recognises individual, family and system strengths and expertise in creating long term solutions. She has an understanding of neurodevelopment and the broader impacts of society on an individual and their family.
