I have had a lot of experience with working with people and I very much appreciate the need to have someone listen, and I mean truly listen. Our world is often fast and furious, our lives more often than not quite chaotic, and it can be difficult to cope with the many hurdles that are thrown at us, and to find someone who actually offers their help unconditionally. My role as your Counsellor is to walk by your side, to respect the privilege that it is to share your story with you, and to perhaps work with you to help find the way forward. Sometimes it is just an ear that makes the difference.
I have worked for many years in traumatic loss - in particular loss through homicide. This has given me a massive insight into the many facets of loss in general, but in particular, coping with sudden or senseless loss. My experience also includes working with domestic violence situations, relationship breakdown, anxiety, depression and trauma.
It is often hard finding the right fit in your therapist, but if we look at what you potentially share in therapy, that fit is the most important thing. My family, my own life and my own values coupled with my work experience provides a sound foundation. I am genuine, empathetic, respectful and non-judgemental, and I bring this with me to each session.
