My clients are everyday people who have become stuck. It can be conflict, breakup, anxiety, depression, addiction, family upheaval or simply an unhappiness that doesn’t budge. My clients know what works, and what doesn't, and value the opportunity to sound things out with an empathic and non-judgmental therapist who can stay engaged even when the going gets tough. Being the co-creator of an authentic, safe relationship in therapy helps clients to maintain authentic, safe, and life affirming relationships outside of therapy.
I have been working in the field of mental health for over 10 years. I’ve practised in suicide prevention, trauma, and workplace coaching. I am now retired. I’ve seen a lot, but I enjoy what I do, so I still work 1 ½ days a week. (I guess that makes me semi-retired.) I’m highly empathic, sensitive to relationship dynamics, and I specialise in psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy is a collaborative therapy which honours the client as the expert in their own lives. My approach is client centred, humanistic and founded on the principles of object relations and attachment. We are each a product of our past. With growth and awareness we can redefine our future.
