It is an honour working with people to support, educate and assist with life struggles and journeys. I have a holistic and trauma informed focus - and extensive experience in the treatment of anxiety, depression, personality disorders, PTSD, complex trauma and drugs & alcohol concerns. And enjoy working with parenting, relationship, and grief & loss issues; as well as life adjustment and transitions. I engage with a warm, person centered, strengths and mindfulness-based perspective.
I use mindfulness based cognitive behaviour therapy and have also found it hugely beneficial to tap into our somatic self - so my sessions are a blend of talk, somatic practice (learning more about your nervous system and ways to regulate in a way that is helpful to you) and learning new skills and strategies to increase capacity to manage life stressors.
The theraputic relationship is the cornerstone of any counselling and feeling comfortable with your therapist is of utmost importance.
