Many people come to therapy already understanding themselves quite well, but notice that their emotional responses in certain situations still feel automatic, intense, or difficult to shift in the moment. This can show up as cycles of self-criticism, anxiety, emotional withdrawal, overthinking, or repeated relational difficulties, even when there is insight into why these patterns might be happening. I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Psychotherapist offering longer-term psychotherapy for adults experiencing complex trauma, attachment-related difficulties, and longstanding emotional or relational patterns.
Therapy provides a reflective, relational space to understand how these patterns develop and continue to operate in the present. Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction, the work involves exploring emotional responses and relational experiences that shape how people relate to themselves and others.
I work from a relational and trauma-informed framework, drawing on Schema Therapy, EMDR, and psychodynamic psychotherapy to support emotional processing and a deeper understanding of relational patterns. I have experience in private practice and inpatient mental health settings, and offer a calm, structured space for longer-term psychotherapy.
