I provide counselling and treatment to children, young people, adults and families who have been impacted by a variety of different issues. I assist those experiencing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, self harm and suicide thoughts. I also specialise in responding to harmful sexual behaviours, sexual abuse and treatment of criminal behaviours. I build connections through empathy, fairness, and best practice approaches.
I offer a warm and caring approach focusing on outcomes in a trauma informed and developmentally appropriate way. I provide strategies that facilitate growth, reduce risk and encourage safety.
Although mental health and behavioural issues can significantly impact individuals it is possible that therapy and support can reduce risk and improve daily function.
I believe that with the right therapist it's possible to reduce stressors, recover from harm and change behaviours.
I acknowledge that attending counselling and treatment can be daunting however many report its benefits.
Finally, although some people benefit from long term counselling, often clients report that short term interventions can help.
