Hi! I'm Courtney, founder of Mindful Elk Therapy. Are the many roles you play causing you to feel anxious, stressed and alone? Perhaps you have experienced interpersonal trauma that is being ignored. Sometimes when we prioritise the needs of others, we neglect our own needs, which puts strain on our relationship with others, and ourselves.
I consider counselling and psychotherapy as mental and emotional self-care. I provide clients with the opportunity to live their best lives by gaining insight into their issues, deal with the potentially damaging consequences, and learn strategies to cope with life's curveballs.
I use a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to provide personalised therapy. I specialise in narrative therapy, attachment-based therapies, emotion-focused therapy and strength-based therapies. I provide culturally competent and ethical therapy, and an authentic service based on empathy, safety and honesty.
My own experience inspired me to follow this career path when I realised that I was sacrificing my own wellbeing while focusing on the needs of others. I understand that it takes courage to ask for help, and when we finally choose to prioritise ourselves, it can improve our relationships with others.
