I have supported people to recover from: trauma, grief and loss, addiction, abuse, depression and anxiety, interpersonal challenges, low self-esteem and existential challenges. I am committed to providing a non-judgemental and safe counselling environment for all. As a teacher, I refused to believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to learning. Instead, I differentiated learning for his students in innovative ways that allowed them to achieve their potential. I take the same philosophical approach to counselling. I subscribes to an integrative therapeutic approach where a person’s individual needs are catered for.
I have spent time working as a counsellor in community settings, before embarking on my private practice. More recently, I have become passionate about the use of eye movements to facilitate and support healing. I have seen first-hand the transformative nature of such approaches and have undertaken specialist training to become accredited.
My first career was in education as a teacher and school leader. These roles provided me with the opportunity to live and work in NSW, the UK, and Victoria. I witnessed the impact poor mental health has on both students and teachers, and it was this experience that inspired me to retrain to become a counsellor and support people’s mental health.
