Clare is a clinical psychologist with special interests in perinatal and infant mental health, parenting difficulties and complex trauma. She also works with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, relationship issues and reproductive loss. Clare completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne which involved developing, facilitating and evaluating a group psychotherapy program for pregnant women experiencing difficulties in the transition to parenthood.
Clare has a client-centred, warm and collaborative approach to therapy, which involves understanding individual needs and values to inform the development of a shared plan. She is informed by a variety of approaches including psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment-focussed approaches, mentalization-based approaches and mindfulness-based approaches.
