I am an empathetic, compassionate and experienced counsellor who utilises a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to assist you to make positive changes in your life. I have been a social worker for many years and in that time have provided counselling and support to a wide range of people. I can support you with various issues such as life transitions, work stress, relationship and parenting challenges, grief & loss, anxiety and depression. I am a fully Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and so you can claim a rebate from Medicare for my services of $81.90.
I believe in working with the person rather than the problem, and aim to help you find ways to live the life that you dream of, no longer trapped by the repetitive patterns of behaviour that are not serving you. I use a variety of evidenced based approaches, but particularly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and compassion focused approaches.

Learn to manage difficulty with more ease and kindness..... MSC is the evidence based program developed by Chris Germer and Kristen Neff. Research on self compassion has shown that it boosts happiness and wellbeing, and is effective in reducing anxiety, depression, self criticism and shame. Learn to: Befriend your inner critic; Develop skills of self compassion to manage difficult emotions including shame; and Foster goodwill towards yourself and others.
