Personal Counsellor to individuals, & couples of all ages and stages of life. I specialise in providing therapy to autistic, culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) clients and NDIS funding recipients. I focus on the different abilities one possesses rather than their disabilities. I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling and certification in supporting people with special needs from Monash University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Languages (Hons), a Diploma in Psychology (Hons). I am a trained and certified Cognitive Behaviour Therapist.
I use trauma informed and strengths-based approaches. My specialty is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and the Gottman method of relationship counselling. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focussed Therapy (SFT), positive behaviour support interventions, a systemic and compassion focussed approach.
I believe one’s life is dynamic. The challenges faced by participants need not be lifelong and mistakes should not become a life sentence. Upholding the participants’ right to self determination, I make allowance for their dignity of risk while maintaining an ethical duty of care. I consider it a sacred privilege to share in a fellow human being’s journey.
