Our organisation supports children and families across Queensland who are struggling with challenges in their lives to make sense of their experiences through a supportive therapeutic setting. We specialise in a range of presenting issues for children including anxiety, depression, self esteem, social skills, attachment issues and trauma experiences. We work collaboratively with families to provide a holistic and supportive approach to resolving difficulties for children and empowering parents with effective skills to build positive relationships with their child.
Centre for Play Therapy offers the counselling approach of child centred play therapy. Play therapy is a structured, theoretically based approach to therapy that builds on the preferred communication of children, play. In play therapy toys are their words and play is their language.
We provide a friendly, supportive and holistic approach to assisting families to better understand and resolve difficulties they may be experiencing with their child, allowing the child the opportunity to process these issues in play therapy whilst also providing support to parents/ carers.
