Welcome to Celtic Counselling Care. My name is Carmel and I have had the tremendous privilege of working as a counsellor for 29 years. My clients have been my greatest teachers and the cumulative learning I have gained from them has helped shape my philosophical beliefs around therapeutic healing and growth. The name "Celtic Counselling Care" is a tribute to my Irish Celtic heritage and reflects my deep affiliation with Celtic spirituality and its ancient wisdom. I place high importance on having healthy connections with one another, the natural world and the transpersonal aspects of life.
I am deeply authentic and empathic in my work. In counselling, I will listen to you carefully, and reflect the voice of your inner wisdom back to you. In this way, you will in time, come to a fresh understanding of your life issues and patterns, which here-to-fore may have presented as a mass of confusion and pain.
I will draw on a range of therapeutic approaches according to your need. Mostly, however, I will encourage you. As the late Irish poet John O Donohue said: “One of the most beautiful gifts in the world is the gift of encouragement. When someone encourages you, that person helps you over a threshold you might otherwise have never crossed on your own"
