I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) with post graduate qualifications in Narrative Therapy. I have worked as a counsellor for over 20 years and have worked with multiple themes and client groups, including family violence, complex trauma, grief and loss, family and social relationships, and life transitions. My work is trauma informed and uses a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems. I am committed to developing and maintaining a non-judgmental, safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.
Therapy can support in difficulties we experience internally and externally and understand the connections between our relationship with ourselves and with others. Each person is unique and I work to collaboratively and creatively respond to the variety of issues that may emerge.
I see each person in context and support awareness of structural, cultural and social influences and their impact on our lives. Therapy can support a focus on what is in our control, increasing capacity to be our preferred selves and to achieve goals that are reflective of one's strengths, hopes and values.
